Canix or Canine Cross-country is a relatively new dog sport. Click on the logo above to see more.

The younger members of VANISTICA, that is Louise, Ian (Littlewood), Grandson Jacob

and Granddaughter Tanita started running in late 2005.

The sport is now well established and hold cross-country events about every 2-3 weeks from September to April each year

The younger members now have Granddad running as well.

It is a very good fun day out with people from many different levels of fitness taking part.

Below are a few pictures of the family running this year.

The 2007/8 season has now ended and the following are the final placings.

Tanita was First Place in the Junior Male/Female 10-12 years, out of 18 runners

Ian was Third Place in the Male 13-39 years, out of 72 runners

Louise was 12 in the 13-39 year Female out of about 100runners

Louise was also 3rd in the 2 Dog Extreme female having run half a season in both events

Jacob was a very creditable 8th in the Male 13-39 years at 13 years of age out of 80+ runners

and only running a few races.

Me, Paul (62yrs) ended up 7th place in the Veteran Male 50+ out of 50 runners

It was a very good season for all of us but most import we had a great time

Jacob has won the National Title for his age group in the 2006/2007 season

The presentation was made at the final run of the season at Cheltenham racecourse in May 2007.

Louise running with Luca (Ch Vanistica's Romeo Sh CM.) & his sister Misty (Ch Vanistica's Rainbow at Bluequills)

at Westonbirt Arboretum, Gloucestershire. She was running in the Ladies Extreme Class 5km.

Believe me these two dogs go for it and it takes some staying upright at times.

Louise was second, and was second in the overall national competition.
